Week in the life of a college student
Monday- I work 12-3 for Campus Dining. My job is to wipe tables and take out the garbage. Then I come back to my apartment and work on homework for the week for a few hours. Then Kaity (my roommate) and I make dinner and watch tv. Then possibly more homework. Oh, then I suppose I go to bed. (Yes, I am one of few college students who need a full nights sleep to function!)
Tuesday- Wake up around 9 am. I get ready, eat breakfast, and then drive over to an inner city Grand Rapids Middle School where I tutor 6th graders in Geography. I always bring some sort of candy to bribe them to work hard. They really make me laugh. I never knew 12 and 13 year olds could be so funny. I am there til around 1 pm (I always want to stay longer). After tutoring comes lunch, usually prepared by Justin for when I come home. I have an art class from 2:30-3:45 (Yes, we learn how to make art projects for young children. This week we are making animals out of recycled materials), American Constitutional Foundations from 4-5:15 (I feel like I should care about the constitution and how it was thought up but in all honesty, I really could care less), By now I am about ready for a nap but I must go on, so I go to the best on campus food establishment (where I eat for free because I work for Campus Dining) and eat dinner. Oh, don't worry. My day isn't done yet. From 6-8:50 I have geography. It's not the most interesting material but the class is easy, so what can I say. FINALLY I get on the bus (my preferred method of transportation) and go home. Guess what happens next? I put on my pajamas and do NOTHING!
Wednesday- Pretty much a repeat of Monday. Work again, 12-3. I come home and eat dinner. The only thing different is that today Justin in home so we hang out. I might do some homework, watch some tv, hang out with friends... Then bed.
Thursday- Well, if Monday and Wednesday are the same then you can guess that Tuesday and Thursday are the same. At least up until dinner, that it. Instead of Geography I have Movement and Dance. It is basically a gym class for elementary teachers. We play tag, do the hokey pokey, play kickball, you know. This is where I get my exercise for the week.
Friday- The best day of all! I work 1-close, which is about 5:30. I make smoothies, ice cream cones, milk shakes and other items of the same sort until 3. Then I must clean my station and take apart the not so pleasing soft serve ice cream machine. Then I come home and have NO plans or obligations again until Monday.
Weekend- I most likely will go home to my parents house to do laundry. Mom will cook something yummy. Keira and I will play baby dolls or whatever she chooses. The weekend is the best time to get homework done, although I don't usually accomplish much.
Then I start all over again!
I hope I entertained you.
Much love, Melissa =)

First of all, Thank you to everyone who donated to my Relay for Life fundraiser. It was an awesome experience!
On Saturday, my mom, Keira, and I went to Eastern Michigan University to watch Adams state robotics competition. It was really awesome to watch. Basically, each teams robot had to pick up these balls and hold them in a storage compartment and then launch them into the other opponents trailer. Adams team ended up taking 4th in the state and they are going to Atlanta in a few weeks for Nationals. Way to go Adam!

New Site
I decided that since none of my family has facebook that I should make one of these "blog" sites to keep everyone updated. I don't have much now, but there will be more to come!
